Who do you want to forgive?

Tom Evans - Insight Timer Teacher

Hello Reader,

I've been a busy bee creating lots of audio tracks for Insight Timer (I now have 8 courses plus 14 tracks!) and I'm loving it.

I'm also loving interviewing successful people that I've met on the platform and this week I bring to you not one but TWO Insight Timer teachers.

During these interviews, I borrowed a technique from Stephen Bartlett's Diary of a CEO: I ask the guest to leave a question for the next quest. Sometimes with surprising results:

Ralf's question came in the form of asking for forgiveness because he knew the next guest, Tom, and had upset him!

Check out Tom's response toward the end of his interview.

Ralf is an alpinist and nature enthusiast. He makes sound recordings in the most remote places that have a soothing effect on our emotional well-being. His Insight Timer courses are among the most popular for sleep, stress reduction, and meditative practice.

Ralf's top tips include

  • Advice on telling stories and not teaching
  • Help on how to produce quality and not just quantity
  • How to engage with your audience

I also enjoyed Ralf's conversations about the people he has met on his travels, including the Dali Lama. Ralf makes a living from his work on Insight Timer and cleaning up audio for other teachers. He has 7k followers.

Tom is a modern-day mystic, scribe and seer. His passion is to take the esoteric, the unknown, and make it exoteric, known and understood. He is a master at simplifying what is complex, and he does this using a mix of gentle explanation, storytelling, and even just using ambient sound. He writes in a trance, too, so his words entrance the listener or the reader. Much of his teaching operates at an unconscious level such that, a few days later, you become conscious of the lesson. If you want magic to come into your world, tune into his meditations, music, musings and courses.

Tom's top tips include

  • Summary of a good setup
  • Adding ambient music
  • Having fun and paying it forward

Tom's interview was fun and light-hearted. He has been on the app since 2015, makes around $4k a month, and has 73k followers!
